New Parts!

After a few days break from working on Sapphire I am quite excited to be back working away on her. The two new parts that I installed today are a ultrasonic range finder and a variable motion sensor.

I am using the ultrasonic sensor by the door to detect when someone walks in. Then I use the motion sensor to check whether a person has either entered or exited the room after which I have sapphire act accordingly. Utilizing these sensors I hope to reduce my dependence on my kinect to manage user detection, and instead use a combination of all 3 to complete larger tasks. An example is now when my alarm is going off all I have to do is get up and it will turn off the alarm, start an eight tracks playlist, open the blinds, and prep the system to wake up. I plan to write up a post on the actual code and design of sapphire as soon as I am done with exams and on reading break.

P.S - Apologize's for the pictures the lighting in my room is pretty dark.
