The system is pretty self explanatory, the main program sends a command to the Arduino board which in turn checks the current state of the blinds (Open,Closed) and then toggles them accordingly. The automation aspect is that Sapphire is also aware of the ambient light level in the room, using this data she makes a decision whether to open or close the blinds. There is an override function in case I want to open the blinds during the night, or when I activate Sleep Mode in which case Sapphire forces the blinds to close even if its still bright out. Eventually I would like to extend the functionality to allow the blinds to be raised up and down instead of just to open or close them.

Automated Blinds
A key feature of Sapphire is her ability to control the blinds in my room using an Arduino and a small electric motor.
