The main change in the past couple of months has been an environment change with me moving into a new apartment building in Victoria. The move itself actually demonstrated Sapphires ability to be easily deployed since it is based on a modular hardware and software system. Another major change that is close to completion is the reorganization of all the code into separate projects that are organized into a dependence tree for easier updating and modification. The UI has also been updated to use HTML 5 backed by JQuery to facilitate communication to the Web Api backend on Sapphire. The benefit of using HTML is the ability for almost any web enabled device to control and interact with Sapphire. The logging backend has also been rewritten to make use of Microsoft's LocalDB, which is a very lightweight SQL database perfect for personal projects. Finally the web facing network module has been redone and is now based on OWIN (Open Web Interface for .Net) this allows for a simplified implementation of an API secured by usage tokens and administrator dynamic verification. Below is a video demonstrating the Kinect and Lights working as designed in their new space.
